Last week you began reviewing articles that support the topic of your research project. This week, begin working on the first draft of your research paper outline that is due by Day 7 of Week 4. Your draft research paper outline must be supported by a minimum of 5 peer-reviewed or primary research articles. Please do not cite newspapers, television or radio shows, or URL’s that are used for advertisement of products. Include a brief summary, or annotation, of how the article supports the corresponding topic in your outline. Be sure to give specific examples of how the citation supports the appropriate sections of the outline. Completing this will serve as a schematic for the final paper.
A first outline of your proposed research paper is due by Day 7 of this week. An outline is NOT essay or paper. It is a brief verbal ‘map’ of the territory you plan to cover in an essay or paper. Refer to the instructions for the outline listed in the Research Paper Guidelines and on the Week 3 Application page. (Please find the Research Paper Guidelines on the Course Information page of the course navigation menu.) An example of an Outline is in the Doc Sharing tab of the course. Your outline must receive instructor feedback before you can proceed; otherwise, you will not be allowed to submit your Research paper.
Reminder: Continue to locate research articles that support the topic of your research paper. Keep in mind that you must include a minimum of 10 articles in the final paper: at least 5 references must be in your first outline and at least 10 in the second outline. Be sure to review the Research Paper Guidelines prior to completing this assignment.
