Paper Requirements
• Describe the person you have selected and the specific core discipline of public health he/she was associated with.
• The historical era this figure impacted and the cause he/she pursued in an effort to advance public health (a particular disease, public health policy, social/behavioral change, etc).
• The steps and methods this person took to advance public health (develop a vaccine; develop a sanitation system, etc).
• The overall impact this person had (provide statistics, health polices, etc).
• Describe any obstacles, barriers or ethical dilemmas that were overcome in the process.
• Explain how the advancements that were made then continue to affect today’s public health efforts on a local, national and global basis
Paper Format
Your final course paper should be formatted as follows:
• Title Page (1 page)
• Main Body (minimum 5 pages): This is the heart of your paper.
• Reference List (1 page): All references that were cited in the text must appear here in APA format. Full credit will not be given should the reference list lack the minimum number of three primary research articles. Keep in mind that most final papers will need more than three to do a good job.

• Header: Consisting of the first two to three words of your title and page number in the upper right hand margin of your page, beginning on the cover page.
• Running head: If your title is more than three words, you must include a running head.
• Per APA format: 1” margins, doubled spaced, Times New Roman style and size 12 font.
