Billie Murry is an MCC college student. Last month, she rented a small house near the college campus. The house is located across the street from a cemetery. Satisfied with the house and the rent, Billie gave a $1,500 security deposit and executed a contract to rent the house for one year. Her rent payment of $750 monthly is due the first of every month.
Shortly after moving in, Billie heard mysterious sounds coming from the basement, lights turned on and off with no one in the room, doors creaked open and slammed shut, and clothes and towels stored in closets were on the floor every morning. One night, Billie felt someone pulled her covers off while she was sleeping. She awoke to find to ghost-like apparitions in her bedroom.
The next morning, Billie�s neighbor informed her two other tenants moved out after only one month. Billie�s neighbor told her the house was haunted. She also told Billie she saw spirits walk from Billie’s yard to the cemetery on several occasions. Frightened, Billie called her landlord. He denied the house was haunted and that other tenants moved out for that reason. Spooked, Billie demanded that he call Ghostbusters to fix the problem. She told the landlord she would stay at a nearby hotel until the ghosts were removed and that he should pay for her hotel. The landlord refused, and told her she should stop watching horror movies.
