Imagine, if you will, someone on a bus asking you “So tell me, briefly, what it’s about”, and you get the idea. Doing a summary well requires deciding what is and is not significant / important, and writing clearly, logically and precisely.
You do NOT need to include bibliographical material / references etc UNLESS you think it is critical to refer in the text itself to (for example) the name of a case or an author. Ask yourself: is it vital that the reader knows this information to understand the text being summarised? You may or may not think it is – that’s up to you.”
