2. For the second assignment, students are required to write an essay of 3000 words which engages in a sophisticated analysis of a particular contemporary issue or trend in news and journalism. In your essay, you are asked to assess the strengths and weaknesses of approaches and theories about the selected topic in news and journalism in the context of changing social, cultural, economic and political structures. This second assignment is related mainly to issues raised in the second half of the module between weeks 6 and 10(NOTE I attached all of those lectures). The essay question is to be selected from ONE of the questions listed for assignment 2. This summative assessment will allow students to familiarise themselves with problems and issues raised in the module and to develop a critical understanding of news and journalism.
