Of course, Judaism is the parent religion of both Christianity and Islam, but is there anything about Judaism itself that warrants its place of prominence in the study of World Religions?
4) The writing of Eli Wiesel on the trial of God bears a striking resemblance to the book of Job. Both involve tremendous, undeserved suffering, and both include at least a tacit indictment of God for not preventing the suffering. Compare the two texts ? are there essential differences? In particular, compare the closing lines of each, the Tribunal?s conclusion and Job?s ?repentance?. Are these the same kind of statement? Do they make sense in the same way, if at all?
