Task Description:
Throughout the course, you are required to complete various tasks, readings, case studies and learning activities associated with the various course topics. As a result, you will build a collection of work which is to be presented collectively in a portfolio of work and reflective diary.
This assessment task, therefore, consists of two parts:
PART 1: Portfolio of work
The various tasks, cases, and other learning activities that are set by the course coordinator are to be presented together in a portfolio of work. Tasks will be assigned throughout the seminar meetings. The specific requirements for each task will be discussed in-class and posted on Blackboard. You should also be prepared to present your work and ideas during the seminar discussion.
PART 2: Reflective diary
Using a reflective diary, critically reflect on the concepts, theories and issues discussed throughout the course. Reflective diaries are based on your own ideas, thoughts and opinions on the subject matter. Please visit the course Blackboard site for further information regarding reflective diaries. Note: High achieving students are expected to incorporate relevant academic literature into their reflective diary although there is no minimum number of academic references that should be utilised – this is for individual students to determine at their own discretion. A reference list must be attached to the submission.
This second part of your assessment task has been designed on the basis that you will complete your reflective diary at the end of each day/topic, taking the time to reflect on the concepts, theories and issues presented in-class as well as any discussion or debate that took place during class. However, if for some reason you are unable to attend a particular topic, it is your own responsibility to proactively utilise any PowerPoint files, readings or other materials provided on the missed seminar topic to guide your reflective diary entry for that topic.
