Its a progress report. It should explain how the (power of Media affects people minds) and you should focus on a specific topic for example how wiki leaks is part of that.
I will upload two different articles and you should find 2 more. it should be in a Harvard style and there should not be any copying.
The structure of the report should be like this:
1. Topic – what is the research paper going to be about? This includes 3 important parts:
a) Personal reasons – I think this is important to me because…
b) Academic reasons – This topic concerns everyone because…
c) Context – e.g. everyone has a Smart phone, how do you exist without one?
2. Specific question – this will be almost a title for the research paper. Think of the questions we have used for our debates.
3. Theoretical foundation – my research project sits on this theory/model
4a. Specific data set – How do I get it?
Or
4b. a literature review – I will be looking at the literature.
5. Method of analysis –
a) Ethnographic – choose a community to study and perform a survey, interview, focus group or personal observation.
b) Reflexivity – Reflect upon your own practices and determine how your behaviors could be tweaked/altered in order to reach ‘best practice’.
c) Content – Frame (how the media portrays a given section of society such as gays, women, indigenous members); Discourse (how society as a whole portrays a given section of society); Agenda Setting (the way that what we talk about is directed by the content creators of the media); Semiotics/multi-modal discourse (the use of symbols, signs, tones, gestures etc to portray a given section of society)
d) Media Effects – audience analysis (surveys, interviews or focus groups to determine how the media affects the way that the audience thinks about or behaves towards something or someone)
