Part 2 requires you to present a professional development plan for the year. This plan should take into consideration the following:
• A professional development plan based on identified needs from data from your campus improvement plan
• Appropriate goals, objectives, strategies, and outcomes
• Training targets (grade level specific, subgroup specific, program specific)
• Training calendar
• Agendas/agenda items
• Activities and materials (resources)
• Budget
• Deliverables (what products will be produced by faculty and staff as a result of this plan)
• Expected outcomes
• Family and/or community involvement
• Evaluation instrument for staff development (for each session as well as comprehensively)
• Reflection of practitioners regarding the learning opportunities participants have engaged in
Key criteria include:
• A comprehensive professional development plan (based on the aforementioned information)
• Characteristics of effective professional development models
• Alignment with identified training targets
• Consideration of adult learning theories
The professional development plan will be submitted in a PowerPoint presentation with no more than 15 slides. The presentation should not be heavy with text and should be presented in a summarized format. Explanation notes should be included for clarification purposes only.
