In regard to the proposal topic, I choose Oral Health in primary school of Indigenous Australians. The place I choose is Palm Island in Queensland State. I suggest the topic will be A Decay and Caries prevention program for primary schools. I chose this topic because based on research studies and statistics, Indigenous children are more likely to have decay and caries twice more than the children of non Indigenous Australians. Therefore, I chose Indigenous children of Palm Island and targeted the primary student of St Michael’s School.

Part A:
a. Choose a strategic plan that has been informed by a national or State policy that will inform your planning proposal. Your proposal needs to be different from existing published plans/programs.
b. The plan you design is to articulate the processes that will operationalise this strategic level document/direction. It will apply core planning principles, frameworks and methodologies that have been learnt throughout this unit. The program could be an initiative that you would like to put in place in your workplace or a program you believe t is warranted in the community. The proposal can be for a State-wide program or a local community-based program.
c. The proposal should include relevant background justification for the need for the program, an evidence-based approach developing the program, development of an implementation schedule including details of the timing of actions to be undertaken (a Gantt chart may be a useful tool to represent the timeframe).
d. Attention should be made to identification and specific roles of community and/or government departments in the implementation and evaluation of your proposal.
e. Your proposal should highlight all of the recognised steps that will inform practitioners towards implementation while maintaining an alignment to the intent of the strategic plan. e.g. effectively responding to local needs in relation to this strategic direction.
Part B.
f. You must also include an evaluation plan which would measure the outcomes of your proposed implementation.
g. The proposal should provide sufficient justification to persuade policy makers, planners and the community to support its implementation. An appreciation of ‘why plans fail’ (Chapter 16 of Eager et al pp.356-357) needs to be included.
