There won’t be questions or topics assigned for the final paper. You should come up with your own topic. It could be something we talked about in class, or some other theme you are interested in— you have a lot of freedom, so I encourage you to write about something that interesting, important and relevant to you. It can be either an argumentative paper (proving an opinion or a position) or a research paper (describing a phenomenon in detail) or a literature review (surveying and comparing a few books on related topics). If you are not sure what to write about, come talk to me soon.
The final research paper should be about 15-20 pages long.
Final version of the paper is due December 13th by 5 pm by email
Refer to at least four readings, books or articles, from the syllabus.
Your final paper must have a thesis. (see the short essay assignment sheet for more on theses)
Keep your references clear and consistent. Here is a link to one of the possible styles,

Whichever style you use, list all the works cited at the end of your essay.
