Week 3 assignment is a creative and very much a critical thinking assignment. The assignment is asking you pick a company that is in one of the sectors mentioned below in the copy of the assignment. Then you create something that would add a technological product, service, or application that would complement the company’s present service. This should be a something new for the organization, not something they are doing. You need to think about their vision, target market, competitive market, what their present services are etc. Thinking about or using a SWOT analysis may help with this assignment. (SWOT-Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats)
An example may be something like Rite Aid. They were behind in the retail health industry because unlike Walgreens, Walmart etc., they had not developed retail health clinics. Minute Clinics are example of retail health clinics. They decided instead of the retail clinics they would use technology and develop a product where Nurse Practitioners and Doctors would get paid for clinical analysis over the computer. Your goal is to create a technological product on your own, not something that is being done by the company at present. But using research on the organizations and their competitor’s (benchmarking) to help you think of good reasoning why this would be a good idea for the organization.
