Your task is to propose an adaptation of a particular story of your choice and transform it from one medium to another. The story may be chosen from a variety of sources�a novel, a short story, a music video, a computer game, a film, an historical event(s). (Please make sure that it hasn�t already been the subject of an adaptation!) You must change the medium; this will have a consequent effect on the story. It is your job to discover and discuss what those resultant changes would be. Remember, you do not actually have to do this. Although your proposed adaptation needs to be realistic enough to be persuasive, you can pretend you have the resources you would need and that Brad Pitt really would be interested in playing the lead role in your film, for example!

Below are some basic guidelines as to what details your essay should include. It is YOUR role to organize these details into a coherent essay, complete with appropriate focus, direction, and paragraphing.
1) Provide a short (one brief paragraph) plot summary of your source text.
2) State clearly what you propose to do and why you think your particular story ?can and should be adapted into a new medium.
3) Identify the major challenges and/or advantages of your proposed adaptation. Instead, think about the feasibility in terms of the media you use. Would someone actually be able, for example, to change a particular television series into a video game?)
4) Identify the basic structure of the story in terms of its major components, characters, plot lines, etc.
5) Identify the genre to which the story belongs. To what extent does the genre influence the adaptation process?
6) To what extent does the medium (novel, TV, computer game, biography, etc.) influence the structure, content, and characters of the story? How does the new medium change the narrative of the source text?
