Your paper should first explain the relevant principle or claim from the Federalist Papers (e.g. what is the context in which the claim is made? what part of the Constitution is being defended?). Secondly, you should examine how the contemporary issue either provides support for(or illustrates) the arguments presented in the Federalist Papers, or provides evidence that undermines the claims of “Publius” (Hamilton, Jay, Madison– the three authors of the Federalist Papers.)
