When you have finished your "close reading" of Chapter 7, do Assignment #1 on page 160: "Write Two Summaries of the Same Article or Book Chapter." USE CHAPTER 10 OF WRITING ANALYTICALLY AS THE BOOK CHAPTER YOU SUMMARIZE. Follow directions carefully; take note of the directions that your first summary should be no more than one typed page (it should also be no less!), and your second summary should be twice that long (at least two typed pages, but not much more).
