Meet with mentor to discuss findings of literature review
1b) Conduct an extensive review of state board of nursing, state board of education and accreditation standards as well as nurse educator standards and scope of practice.
1c. Draft needs assessment and review with mentor.
1d. Administer needs assessment and analyze data collected.
2a. Review regulations and standards (ISBN(board of nursing),ISBE(board of education) and NLNAC accrediting standards)
2b. Review the approval process for my proposed project site for curriculum amendment.
2c. Review findings with mentor and gain feedback.
3a. Review course content, sequence of class, learning activities, and management of class.
3b. Conduct a scholarly literature review of 15-25 peer-reviewed articles regarding instructional design for adult learners.
3c develop lesson plan for classroom instruction to include:
1) Learning Objectives
2) Content Outline
3) Teaching Strategies/Resources including;
a. PowerPoint presentation with speaker’s notes (minimum 20 slides exclusive of title and reference slides).
b. Handouts
4) Evaluation strategies and tools
3d. Review the lesson plan with my mentor for her expert feedback.
4a. Set up date/time, location, and equipment to implement project
4b. Implement mock education session with peers present to observe classroom instruction to gain confidence and peers input.
4c. Implement education session with mentor present to observe classroom instruction and provide feedback
5a. Administer evaluation tool(s) developed and analyze collected data.
5b. Review results of evaluation and total curriculum amendment with mentor and collect mentor’s final, written evaluation of achievement of practicum goal and objectives.
