Creative writing A summary of an articleProject descriptionYou will be writing a summary of an article you have chosen from the SIRS Researcher OR Academic Search database about the global water crisis. Please review the instructions for accessing the databases in this folder to find an article that will fulfill the requirements of this assignment. Your article should be no older than five years. This means you can have an article that goes as far back as 2007 but nothing earlier than 2007.??.Your summary should be no less than 300 words and no more than 500 words in length. Adhere to the summary writing guidelines provided in the handout in this folder.However, be sure to USE YOUR OWN WORDS when summarizing the article unless you are quoting. Be sure to read the material on plagiarism in this folder.In the opening sentence, include the title of the article, the name of the author, and the main idea the article expresses.??.Include at least one and no more than three brief quotes, perhaps of phrases, in the summary. If you use any exact words from the article, you must put them in quotation marks. The quotation mark at the end of the sentence always goes after the period. Make sure your quotes are accurate. In other words, make sure that you do not leave any words out, that you quote the author?s exact words. Again, remember that, in a summary, the majority of the sentences should be in your own words.??.Include a Works Cited entry as the last page of your summary. Center the words Work Cited across the top of the page and then copy the MLA formatted entry that appears at the end of the article. Be sure to follow correct formatting. The first line of a source in MLA starts on the left hand margin. Every line after the first is indented.
