In class you will be watching a movie that depicts the lives of two main families. These families share certain experiences, circumstances and practices in common, whilst differing in some areas. The resultant outcome is very different for the two families.
Assignment
You are required to write an essay comparing the two families depicted. Using the knowledge you have gained throughout this course, you must suggest both external (sociological) and internal (psychodynamic) factors that would in your opinion contribute to the functioning of the families concerned. Your essay should highlight and explain the areas of functioning that you consider to be healthy or less healthy on the continuum of family health and how these factors contribute to the eventual outcome for the two families.
