This is the second coursework of three, and it requires you to work in groups of not more than five students. The task relates to the use of documentation in global trade, and each group is required to identify all the documents that a seller and buyer will need to originate to achieve a successful transaction that meets all the requirements of the two parties in satisfying their own administrative needs, and those of the intermediaries that will be involved at some point in the movement.
The weighting for this assessment is 25%, and the completed task must be handed into the Registry by Thursday,19th April, 2012.
There are six scenarios which involve origin and destination as well as Incoterms being used for each scenario. Each group should identify all the documentation needed to be prepared by the two parties, based on the range of documentation discussed in class. All six scenarios must be answered.
There is a requirement, too, for a brief resume of the reasons for the group’s choices in an accompanying sheet. Where the same document is used in more than one scenario, there is a need for that document to be explained only once, but referred to in those other scenarios.

2. A shipment of guns to be exported by the British manufacturer to the Saudi Arabian government. Carriage to be by sea in a conventional ship using CIF Jeddah Incoterm.
3. An import of frozen fish for a British retailer from a supplier in Taiwan. The goods will be carried as a FCL shipment in a refrigerated container and the Incoterm CIP Felixstowe used.
4. An export of paper brochures by a UK supplier to an American buyer in New York, USA. The Incoterm, DAT New York, will be used and carriage will be by consolidated airfreight.
