But once I began to read chapter one of our text, Film: From Watching to Seeing, (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011), I am not so sure. The internet and other technologies definitely affect the ways in which movies are produced, distributed, and exhibited, but not in necessarily in the way you would think. For instance, even though people can watch movies at home, or on the go, that has not stopped them from going to the theater (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011). I believe the reason for this is, going to the Movies gives you a reason to leave the house. It is a relatively inexpensive outing, and can be used by everyone from families, to teens, to couples. Watching movies at home provide entertainment, but it does not get you out of the house.
Technology has also effected the way movies are produced depending on what the producer is going for, he/she has more of a variety to choose from. They can choose to go low budget, or spend more money and go high-tech. An example used in the text was the movie Paranormal Activity, ( Goodyknootz & Jacobs, 2011). In this case the producer decided to use only a camera, and his own apartment. This allowed him to get a feel as if the event was actually taking place. Although, low budget, it was exactly what he needed.
The fact that movies can be purchased for home viewing, has not affected people going to the theater, as it was thought to. The way in which they are purchased has changed over the years, but they are still purchased. The reason for this is because people can view the film over and over, without having to pay for it every time. Anyone who has a young child can understand and appreciate this. Children like to view movies they like over and over until something else comes along.

impact on the quality or depth of the films?
The technologies and the internet has currently made it possible for you to watch a movie virtually anywhere other than going to the movie theaters. For instance. You can now watch and rent a movie on your laptop computer, or on your IPhone. Where is, when back when television came out according to the authors of our text, “In the early 1950″s television was a major blow against the film industry when it became widely available in homes” (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011). Which is when the different ways of distributing and exhibiting movies really began soon after. The VCR, DVD, 3-D, and now blue-ray DVD’s with better captions.
The quailty of the films began advancing with technical color verses the old black and white films
But the authors also explained that even though this was a blow to theaters, movie theaters regained that popularity back with the enhancements of technologies of wide screen, stereo sound, and more frequently use of color, and more adult-oriented stories not available on television (Goodykoontz & Jacobs, 2011). Which is the affects that has came to producing movies with good quality and depth.
For example of lots of colors, and excitment captions and great acting skills the movie lately that shows this right now for me is The Avengers and The Sherlock Holmes two movie.
