Marketing plan custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

The green fonted writing is the teacher’s comments about the paper. please will u be able to fix it ?
Current situation analysis
Dove is one of the world’s most recognizable and successful brands in the sector of personal hygiene. It was founded in 1957 and is currently under Unilever’s control since they acquired it. Perhaps their best known product is the wide varieties of soap that they sell. Dove recently has seen attention for its new marketing campaign which tries to use realistic images of women in their ads. This has many potential advantages, as Dove tries to strive for a larger market share, ads that portray images of women that more can recognize themselves in mean that the ads can appeal to a broader range of customers.
The challenge presented to any Dove marketing strategy is one of making sure they differentiate their product somehow. The soap market is one that is highly competitive, with tons of other brands that Dove needs to compete against (who are the major brands that Dove compete with?). On top of that, the low fixed costs present in the industry means that there is easy entry for new potential competitors. This means that Dove must do something to stand out from these numerous competitors that they face. One way to do that is through the product itself, but differentiation can also occur through advertising. A memorable campaign that makes potential customers associate the Dove name with positive feelings can be very effective.
Dove’s effort at differentiation has come through its Real Beauty campaign in recent years. Real Beauty is a response to the trend in hygiene, beauty, and fashion advertisements in which fashion models are used to market their products. These types of advertisements are highly pervasive, but are not without their critics. The most common complaint is that advertisements featuring these types of women have created an unrealistic standard for beauty, especially amongst younger and more impressionable girls. Dove has attempted to counter this by using more typical looking women than other companies. This ad campaign is focused on what they have termed real beauty, meaning a standard that more women can see as attainable for themselves. In conjunction with the advertising campaign, Dove committed itself to various efforts to support women and their self esteem (Dove Support).
This advertising campaign has been very successful, even though it hardly mentions anything about any Dove products. Dove itself calls attention to their own ad campaign as often as possible; they have come to market their own marketing campaign as much as any of their products. This is because they know there is a great deal of goodwill bound to come to them due to their unique campaign. Real Beauty is not just an alternative to any trend in advertising, but a trend that has many worried about what the previous ads are saying about women. Dove can present themselves as an alternative to a type of advertising that some see as immoral; passions run high against their alternatives so passions can run high for Dove and their Real Beauty campaign.
The unique nature of the ad campaign has meant that Dove gets increased media exposure. This is because there is a somewhat political, albeit neutral, statement embedded in the ad campaign. By doing this, they have avoided any sort of controversy while also drawing attention to themselves. Publicity for a media campaign means that they get essentially free advertising for their message, making it extremely effective at getting their message out. On top of that, the ad campaign is designed to appeal to as many women as possible. The proportion of women who find themselves comparable to the models in the Real Beauty campaign is certainly higher than those who see themselves in the models of traditional campaigns. This makes this new campaign both universally appealing and goes through media that Dove does not have to pay to transmit through.
Dove has launched one of the world’s most creative and successful ad campaigns. Due to the nature of its statement, it receives free publicity as the ad campaign itself becomes a news story deemed worth covering. However, the real brilliance of the campaign is in the way it can be seen as a celebration of its own target market. The ads use real women and attempt to celebrate the beauty of these women. Dove realizes that the kind of women they are putting in the advertisements and the women who could buy their soap are similar and they themselves recognize the very similarities. They have come to be selling women self esteem as opposed to the product itself (Lee). By celebrating the women in their ads, Dove makes the women seeing the ad feel better about themselves and by extension, the Dove brand itself.
In conclusion, Dove has launched one of the best current ad campaigns and should continue using a similar approach for the foreseeable future. The advertisement is brilliant in its effectiveness, as the campaign both sends a message that works to bring in consumers and a message that results in the campaign being talked about. This second feature makes the campaign especially successful. Dove has been focuses largely on the female demographic, but it is now in the infancy of a new male centric campaign. They should be careful to separate the two brands (what is the other brand?) to not risk the success they have already have. That said, the company that has come up with such a unique and well thought out campaign should be trusted to do so again in their new target market.
First of all, it is good that you have done a study on the Real Beauty campaign. But two-page long description of this campaign is too long.
Second, the current market situation analysis is for the market situation of the product or brand, not just the marketing campaign that the company has run. You also need to introduce the product feature, price review, distribution review, then compare with other competing brands and highlight your competitive advantage. The focus is on UAE market.
Another thing needs to be clarified is your marketing plan is about the shower gel for men. Is it true? If so, I don’t see how the Real Beauty campaign helps the introduction of this new product. And if it doesn’t, why do you give so much detail on this campaign? You just need to indicate the effects of this campaign, such as the increasing brand awareness, improved customer attitude towards the brand, increasing sales performance, etc.

Okay I will copy and paste the guideline handout he gave us for this research paper below, the only thing is to do this paper you have to have find a way to get and have the book. “Substance use and abuse sociological persectives” thats the name of the book you half to have and it’s written by the professor of this class Victor Shaw.He is the author of that book as well. I do not have the book and I dont know if u can read it online for free. So u have to let me know if u can get the book and read it and do the paper. Okay here are the specific guidelines he gave us to write the research paper. Please follow and do everything he says on this.
Guidelines for the Research Paper Soc 304
Length. The minimum is ten pages. You can write as long as you like. But you will be penalized if you write fewer than ten full pages.
Directions. You need to use a sociological theory to explain a specific type of deviance. In this guideline, I use “Substance Use and Abuse in the Entertainment Industry: A Subcultural Perspective” as an example. Follow Shaw’s model in Substance Use and Abuse: Sociological Perspectives. In particular, you should include the following components in your research paper.
Title: Substance Use and Abuse in the Entertainment Industry: A Subcultural Perspective
Introduction: In about one page, (a) introduce your topic of deviance “substance use and abuse in the entertainment industry”; (b) explain why and how you can apply the subcultural perspective and its theories to explain the issue.
Literature Review/Sources of Inspiration: In about two pages, (a) review the existing literature; and (b) show what has been studied and what remains to be studied on your issue, “substance use and abuse in the entertainment industry,” especially from a subcultural perspective.
Theoretical Image: In about one and half pages, develop a theoretical image of your issue, “substance use and abuse in the entertainment industry,” from your chosen perspective, “the subcultural perspective.” For example, substance use is passed on from seniors to juniors, from insiders to outsiders, or from stars to starters, not only through association with acting or performing peers but also through identification with celebrity cultures and lifestyles featured in the mass media.
Theoretical Components: In about four and half pages, (a) identify major aspects/elements of your issue, “substance use and abuse in the entertainment industry.” Some of those aspects may include: the cause for spreading substance use, the process of transmitting substance use, and/or the consequence of sustaining substance use; and (b) explain each of those aspects, in detail, using one or more theories of the subcultural perspective.
Policy Implications: In about two pages, offer specific suggestions to media executives, entertainment stakeholders, health professionals, and/or entertainers themselves regarding subculture, substance use, and behavioral change.
Conclusion: In about half a page, conclude your paper with its major points (findings and arguments). Point out if there are any related issues to be further studied.
Printing Specification. Your research paper must be printed on the 81/2 x 11 white paper to the following specifications (Font: Times New Roman; Point: 12; Spacing: Double; Margin: one inch on each side).

How social skills are lost during online learning. custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Are students losing the social skills needed to function in regular jobs by taking online classes? How can we fix this? How do you force face to face interaction or working together.

I have attached a proposal I have written last year and would like it to be elaborated on. I am hoping to have around 30 pages with sources, title, etc. I hope the 25 pages I asked for is the actual content. I am also uploading the template they would like used. Please follow it. Most of the paper should be research. Also I will need to do my own research via surveys, etc and analyze that. My proposal was very generic and broad, i want it narrowed down to how social skills are effected from online learning versus the traditional classroom setting.

6250 words are in total.

Suggested Sources:
Take a look at the Facebook Friends thesis I have uploaded. It is sort of similar to my topic, but focus on social networking where I want to focus on online learning and possibly finding a solution

Thesis/Project Guidelines

for Graduate Students

Draft (January 2011)

Acknowledgement: This guide is an abbreviated and heavily edited version of the MS Thesis Guidelines at the New Castle University in England.
1 Overview

These guidelines are intended to help you in the thesis/project process. Given that a thesis/project is an individual piece of work there is no intention unduly to restrict you in your approach. This document presents guidelines to support your work, therefore, and is not a set of absolute rules or procedures to which you must adhere. You will talk in more detail about your own project with your thesis/project supervisor.

In general, thesis/projects vary in style and approach according to your program of study. The following represent some core principles that differentiate a thesis from a practical project:
• Thesis: You undertake a thorough review of literature and of current knowledge and test the theoretical base for your work in some way in some practical situation. You typically present some hypothesis and test them for validity through some hands-on experiments, surveys or other instruments. The objective is to help the research community.
• Practical Project: You undertake a thorough investigation of a topic (e.g., use of mobile devices in healthcare) and develop deep understanding of the practical aspects and real life applications/implications of the field. You may develop prototypes or insightful reports that are of value to practitioners. The objective is to help the practitioner community.

The primary goal of the thesis/project is to allow you to enrich your knowledge and integrate your academic study with the analysis of related practical or theoretical work. The results produced should be publishable in a conference paper after minor additional work. This is not a requirement, just a desirable goal.

2 Assessment Criteria

2.1. The scope of assessment
Ideally, your thesis/project should reflect:
• A clear statement of the problem you have chosen to investigate
• A thorough reading of the relevant literature (practical or theoretical)
• Appropriate selection of a study approach
• An ability to synthesise various perspectives
• A good grasp of the theoretical and/or practical issues
• An ability to evaluate evidence, drawing appropriate conclusions and acknowledging ambiguity;
• Clarity of presentation
• A fluent style

2.2 How your work is Assessed
The thesis/project will be assessed by your advisor and also by a committee of three peers (other graduate students). You can suggest the peer review committee members.

2.3 Presentation and format

Length: The Thesis/project should be between 10,000 to 12,000 words (it should not exceed 12,000 words), not including references and appendices.

You must submit an electronic copy of your work in PDF format.

There are no firm specific rules for content and presentation. However, thesis/projects will normally comprise:
• A Title Page (this is essential): including the title of the thesis/project, your name and degree course, and the institution awarding the degree. The title should be succinct yet clearly specify the content of the report. This should be brief (thirty words is normally the maximum length). It should be agreed and finalised as part of the final draft. It may be different from the original working title.
• An Abstract (essential): stating briefly the mode of enquiry and any conclusions reached. This should be brief, certainly no more than one page in length.
• A Contents Page –
• A Preface: acknowledging any help, advice or support – especially from people outside the School – and mentioning any specific difficulties encountered in carrying out the project which may have detracted from the outcome.
• An Introduction (essential): the purpose of this chapter is to introduce and contextualize the study. This means that the significance or importance of the topic is set out. If there is no apparent importance to the study to any external reader, the topic may not be appropriate. This can best be done by positioning the thesis/project in relation to other work that has been published, whether in agreement with that work or otherwise. This Introduction should also discuss the questions your thesis/project addresses. This section should also tell the reader how the topic will be unfolded and the order of forthcoming material.
• Literature Review: Depends on Project or Theses. Discussed in Proposal
• Method (Aproach Used): Depends on Thesis or Project. Discussed in Proposal
• Results or findings: these should be clearly presented. Avoid over- burdening the reader with masses of data: produce summaries of the main findings Where statistical procedures are employed, these should be described. You should include samples of data, calculations and computer printouts in the appendices (appendices do not contribute to the word count).
• Discussion: this should summarise your findings, and indicate their implications for your questions. The discussion functions as an appraisal and criticism of your work, in relation to the issues and hypotheses raised in the introduction. It should not simply repeat chunks from your introduction or findings. In some cases, discussion is included in the Results section.
• Conclusion (essential): a brief statement of any conclusions you have reached as a result of your work. What do you want the reader to know as a result of having read your thesis/project? If you have developed any strong personal opinions about the subject which seem appropriate to relate, this is the place where such content is appropriate.
• References: a complete list, properly set out, with all relevant details. All references cited in the text should be included here – and vice versa.
• Appendices: if appropriate. As a general rule, if figures, tables, charts or quotes are less than a full page and can be conveniently included in the text, you will want to do so, since reference to appendices is awkward for the reader. All such material, in the text or at the end, should be titled and sequentially numbered. Appendices are intended to support and provide additional, substantiating information for your work, not as a ‘dumping ground’ for anything that you couldn’t get into the main text because of word count restrictions.

2.4 General points
Writing Style: The level of writing must be appropriate to the level of your degree. Specifically, you should pay attention to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and clarity of style. It is your responsibility to edit the text for typing and grammatical errors.

Page Layout: Pages should be numbered, starting with and including the title page.
Margins: Please leave sufficient margins to allow for binding.

Tables and charts: should be numbered in sequence by chapter, e.g. Table 3.1 is the first table in Chapter 3. Each figure should be accompanied by a descriptive title which completely explains the contents of the figure.

Final Note: Plagiarism
• The intellectual work of others that is being summarised in the thesis/project must be attributed to its source. This includes material you yourself have published or submitted for assessment here or elsewhere.
• It is also plagiarism if you copy the work of another student. In that case both the plagiariser and the student who allows their work to be copied will be disciplined.
• When writing thesis/projects and essays, it is not sufficient to just indicate that you have used other people’s work by citing them in your list of references at the end. It is also not sufficient to just put “(Bloggs 1992)” at the end of a paragraph where you have copied someone else’s words. It is essential that the paragraph itself be IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
• The only exception to this is if you are quoting a source. In that case you must put the quotation in quotation marks and cite the source, including page reference, immediately afterwards. If the quotation is longer than a sentence, you should indent and set off the whole passage; when the quotation is indented in this way it is not necessary to use quotation marks, but, as always, the author, date, and page number should be cited.
• It is assumed that all ideas, opinions, conclusions, specific wording, quotations, conceptual structure and data, whether reproduced exactly or in paraphrase, which are not referenced to another source, is the work of the student on this thesis/project. If this is not the case, an act of plagiarism may have occurred, which is cause for disciplinary action at the programme or Un
