Justify Research Design
A well-designed and well-implemented study is necessary in order for you to be able to make a convincing argument about the meaning and significance of your research findings. If your design is poor, your findings may be interpreted or explained in multiple plausible ways, limiting the value of your study to your field.

For this Activity, write a justification of the design you have chosen to address your research problem and answer your research questions. Show how your design will allow you to provide convincing answers to your research questions. Identify threats to validity specific to your study and how your design addresses them.

Include a restatement of your problem and purpose statements, research questions, and research design. Discuss data collection, instruments and measures, and data collection and analysis as appropriate, as you have conceptualized these at this point in the dissertation process.

Be guided by the ?Methods? section of the Concept Paper template, but do not use the template to submit the activity.

History Topic Essays custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

In essays of approximately 200 – 300 words each (1,000 – 1,500 words total), identify five (5) topics (you decide which ones, as long as they have something to do with the material you’ve studied to date in this course) and reflect on their implications–in other words, why they matter, and where those implications lead. This is an exercise in reflection on the lessons of history, where they come from, and where they lead in terms of their influence on the development of the enduring characteristics of Asian society, and (if you wish) what they mean for things that are happening now.
You should be working on these Essays Assignments continuously, and your work should have the polished feel of being the result of a steady, daily progression of thought and reflection. You can never tell when insight will strike, so you should get into the habit (now) of taking notes as we go along of things like this that occur to you; carry a little notebook and pen around with you always (except in the shower)–it?s a habit that will serve you very well indeed for all kinds of purposes. Polish, embellish, and refine your insights as you go. Don?t even think about trying to sit down to compose these essays all at once?it?s a daunting, unproductive, and highly improbable prospect. If it appears that you have slapped together this assignment at the last minute, your grade will suffer for it.
Everything you write for these assignments must be entirely in your own words, however humble. Plagiarism will result in your eviction from this course. Do not cite or recite anything?I already know what happened in history, so what I want is your insight as to the implications of your topics. I want to see evidence that you?re thinking things through in these matters and wondering about what it all means. Any citation of material from any other sources will result in a mark-down of your grade.
You must write on five (5) separate topics for each Essays Assignment. Your five essays should be clearly segregated from each other–do not submit them run together into one big essay.
Here are three essays as an example:
? Reading:

1. China: Adapting the Past, Confronting the Future,
The 5 Topics:
1. ?Talks at the Yan?an Forum on Art and Literature,? by Mao Zedong, pgs. 435-449

2. ?The Unglovable Hands,? by Zhao Shuli, pgs. 452-462
3. ?On the Other Side of the Stream,? by Kong Jiesheng, pgs. 463-486
4. ?Deathsong of the River,? by Su Xiaokang and Wang Luxiang, pgs. 499-503
5. ?The Revolution of Resistance,? by Geremie R. Barme, pgs. 514-522

I will be sending you the following grade report on your Essays Assignments:
? Quality of insight (50 percentage points): How well did you interpret the significance of your topic? How well did you consider the implications, in terms of how your topics reflect on comparable developments in the present, past, or even the future? How creative is your thinking in terms of drawing conclusions are where things come from and where they lead and why they’re of special significance? To what extent does your writing reflect consistent, in-depth reflection, rather than a last-minute effort?
? Familiarity with the facts (35 percentage points). You may be forgiven for wondering how you are going to demonstrate familiarity with the facts without reciting history. Let me put it this way: I am concerned that your essays do not reflect a complete ignorance of your subject matter. You need to acquaint yourself (using all kinds of sources, including your text, websites, books, articles, videos, your grandpa, whatever) with what you write about, so that your conclusions as to their significance are not completely at odds with the reality of the historical record. You may make whatever mention of those facts from the historical record that are needed (and only what is needed) to support your conclusions.
? Quality of expression (15 percentage points): How clearly and articulately is your insight expressed? (I don’t like sloppy composition, confused syntax, and bad spelling. Show pride in your facility with the English language–more than anything, this is your key to earning both respect from others and a prosperous future.)
? Total percentage X total number of points possible = your grade.
Things that can work against you:
? Five topics for each Essays Assignment are required; for each topic fewer than five submitted, there will be a reduction in your grade. A total of 1,000-1,500 words is recommended–if your effort is appreciably less or more (which is not necessarily better) than this, there may be a proportionate reduction in your grade.
? Do not recite history for the sake of reciting history, in any sort of narrative form (as, for example, your textbook does)–I already know (more or less) what happened in history. Above all, are your essays entirely in your own words? Any whiff of plagiarism will result in your essay being submitted to Turnitin.com–and if plagiarism is indicated, your continued participation in this course would be at risk.
? If your essays are not clearly segregated, there will be a reduction in your grade (in other words, do not submit your five essays as one big rambling essay); this is meant to be an exercise in thinking and writing succinctly.

Primary Source Essay custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

In last paper, you analyzed a single source that helped show how you personally fit into a broader community and historical moment. For this assignment you are to locate at least three primary sources that specifically address a research question that you come up with, and use them to make an argument about an issue of local importance. What do these primary sources tell you that you did not already know? How do they complicate and illuminate an issue or question that you have been pursuing? The purpose of this paper is to make an argument about an issue, not to find out information about a topic. If you just present information you located, you have not done the assignment.

A primary source, as we have learned, can be almost anything that serves as a direct witness to history. It is usually not an academic, peer reviewed source, but a source that you can examine and analyze. A difficult part of this assignment will therefore be narrowing down and choosing the most appropriate primary source for your research:
? Is there a public official or category of person (for example, student, professor, bus driver, resident of the Six Pack) who would likely have useful information?
? Do you need to know local history that might be recorded in the University Archives, the Student Life and Culture Archives, or the archives of a town library or civic institution?
? Would everyday objects in your surroundings help you answer your question? A poster in the hallway, the menu in the dining hall, the ?don?t walk? sign at the intersection of Green and Wright could all be relevant, depending on the information you need.

You might find it helpful to start with one primary source, and have the questions it raises lead you to the next primary source for more information. Also remember that primary sources don?t speak for themselves; you must tell us why they are significant. Be sure to be very precise in your description of a primary source. Also, pay attention to how each primary source informs another. Your primary sources should provide you with enough new information to refine and complicate your question and come to some provisional conclusions. Be sure in your essay to address new questions that your primary sources raise that you have yet to answer.

Some requirements and helpful pieces of advice:

1. You may continue to work in a group. If you work in a group, each person must locate at least TWO primary sources.

2. Do not steal your primary sources!

3. If you want to use the University of Student Life archives (which is a great idea to learn about local issues), Review the Primary Source Village modules before searching in the Archives: https://www.library.illinois.edu/village/primarysource/index.htm . These modules are very helpful.

4. The Primary Source Village modules are also great in general for helping you remember what a primary source is and how primary sources can be useful.

5. A note on interviews: give careful thought to whether an interview will be a great source for your paper. It?s tempting to think that interview automatically makes your paper more authoritative or interesting, but remember that an interview is a source like any other?it is to be analyzed and not merely reported. There are some research questions that an interview can really help to illuminate, and some questions that an interview is no help at all. If you do conduct an interview, review carefully the discussion of interview protocols and preparation in your ?Primary Sources: Documents and Interviews? chapter.

6. The use of images in this essay is acceptable and even encouraged. If your primary source is a map, photo, or other image, it is helpful to include a visual representation of it in your essay to help clarify your argument.

7. Whatever you collect, make sure you have a record of it?a photocopy, a recording, a URL, a photo?to show your instructor, and be sure to collect any relevant citation information, including date and location where you found the object/conducted the interview. If your primary source is from the University or Student Life and Culture Archives, include box and serial number in your citation. A complete Works Cited page is REQUIRED for this assignment.

Airport planning custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

A large international airport typically has its Master Plan updated at about five yearly intervals. The
Master Plan is updated to take account of the latest traffic forecasts, new aircraft types introduced since
the previous update or planned for introduction and airport developments that have been implemented
since the previous update.
Identify the key considerations (e.g. forecasts, critical aircraft, airport facilities (both aviation and nonaviation),
environmental, staging, budget costs, etc.) that you would study in updating the Master Plan
for an international airport. Identify and describe the issues that you would consider and how each would
be incorporated within the overall Master Plan.
Use suitable sketches or other graphics to illustrate key items.
As a guide, Master Plans for most Australian airports are available on each airport?s web site. The
Master Plan for one or more airports could be used as an example in the preparation of this assignment.
However, the exercise is NOT to describe the Master Plan for an individual airport but to discuss the key
issues to be considered and how each of the facilities on an airport would be analysed such that
adequate provision is made for each for the Master Plan?s planning horizon. How would each facility be
incorporated in the airport?s Master Plan?
