Instructions for Completing Homework Assignments
PLEASE PRINT (OR HAVE AVAILABLE IN SOME WAY) THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE COMPLETING ANY ASSIGNMENT!
If you follow these instructions, you should be able to complete the homework assignments and submit them on Blackboard without any problems.

Both assignments can be completed long before their due date, including the first week of the term.

Begin with Homework #1. DO NOT click on the orange Homework #1 link unless you are ready to submit your answers.

1. Copy and paste into a writing program (e.g. Microsoft Word) (or write down) the questions listed as they appear UNDER the orange link to “Homework #1” on the “Homework” page. You are doing this so you are able to answer them while NOT in the Blackboard window. This will safeguard you from being disconnected while completing the assignment.

2. Now log out of Blackboard. You are doing this so that you do not bog down Blackboard when you really don’t have to be in Blackboard.

3. Take your time and type your answers into your writing program. All of the questions are simply designed to encourage you to think critically about certain topics related to sexuality and therefore, there is no right or wrong answer. You will be graded on the amount of effort that you put into answering those questions. Therefore a one or two-sentence answer will NOT be sufficient. Typically, a paragraph is enough when answering each question (not each assignment). Please run a spell and grammar check, use complete sentences, and save your work. You will lose points for spelling/grammatical errors as well as incomplete sentences as those things make the responses very difficult to read.

4. After you have answered the questions to your satisfaction, remove the actual questions themselves, leaving only your NUMBERED answers. For example, what you submit for Homework #1 would look like this:
1a. The first time I remember being treated differently because I am female/male/transgendered/intersex was when . . .
1b. At the time, I felt . . . I was thinking . . .
2. If I had to share a dorm room with someone of a different sex . . .

and so on.

DO NOT include any introductory information like your name, ID#, or class name.

5. Now you are ready to submit your answers. Log back in to Blackboard, select the “homework” link and click on the orange “Homework #1” link. You will get a prompt stating ?Click begin to begin: Homework #1. Click Cancel to go back.?

6. Click “Begin.” You will now get a window with the heading ?Preview Test: Homework #1.?

7. Scroll down the window past the questions and you will find a box with a toolbar at the bottom. This box is where you are going to be pasting your answers.

8. Now go back to your answers in your writing program and copy them. Be SURE you copy ALL of your answers!

9. Now go back to Blackboard and paste your answers in the box.

10. If you forgot to run a spell check in your writing program, you can now do that by clicking on the “abc” icon on the lower right of the box to run a spell check.

11. When you are sure that you are ready to submit your answers, click on “save and submit.” DO NOT just select ?save all answers.? If you do select ?save all answers? you also HAVE TO select ?save submit? in order to complete the process. You will then get a prompt asking, “Confirm assessment submission.”

12. Click “OK.” You will then receive a message indicating that your test was submitted successfully. You may want to write down the date and time listed next to “submitted.” You can then select ?OK? to review results. The most important thing to look for is that next to ?Status? it should say ?Needs grading?. Once you see that, you can click on ?OK? and it will take you back to the homework screen.

Simply repeat steps 1-12 to complete the second homework assignment.

If you are having problems, e-mail the GTA immediately. If you are having problems and the deadline is looming, email YOUR RESPONSES to the GTA.

After Completing the Homework
I highly recommend that, after you submit your answers, you click on the “My Grades” tab to be sure something was posted. Every term, I have a number of students who do not complete the submission process correctly. They think they submitted something when, in fact, nothing was submitted, and the due date had passed. If you do this, you will not get any credit nor will you have the opportunity to resubmit your answers if the deadline has passed. You have been warned. It is your responsibility to follow the instructions and complete the assignment correctly.

When looking at the ?My Grades? tab, if you posted something successfully, a green “!” will be displayed for that particular assignment. If you didn’t submit anything, a “-” will appear. If a pencil and paper symbol or a red ?!? appears, that means that something went wrong in the submission process and you did NOT successfully complete the assignment. This can happen if you simply ?save? your work, but do not ?submit? your work. If this happens, you can just go back in and complete the assignment again, but if not, contact the GTA to help you.

At some point, probably 3 weeks after each assignment is due, you will be able to check your scores on Blackboard. If you submit your assignment early, you will not find a grade early – as grading doesn’t begin until each assignment’s due date has passed. If it hasn’t been graded yet, the “!” will still appear for that particular assignment. If it has been graded, then the points you received will be displayed.

If you receive a score less than the total possible, the reason(s) will be listed in the “Comments” column at the “My Grades” tab.

Homework #1
Directions: Each question (there are 7) has a 3-sentence response minimum. Failure to follow these instructions will lead to a reduction in possible points.

1a. Complete this sentence: “The first time I remember being treated differently because I am female/male/transgendered/intersex was when?”

1b. What were your thoughts or feelings about that experience at that time?

2. Decades ago co-ed residence halls were non-existent. Now, some colleges have co-ed rooms within co-ed residence halls. How comfortable would you feel sharing a dorm room with someone of a different sex? Explain your response.

3. Imagine you are a parent. At what age would you discuss the concepts of heterosexuality and homosexuality with your child(ren)? Why that age? Explain your response.

For questions 4 & 5, think of someone you know well who is over 65 years of age. (Note: If you can?t think of ANYONE, e-mail Liz and she?ll give you some suggestions. If you think of someone whom you believe is no longer sexually active, these questions will be hard to complete, meaning you will lose points.)

4a. Who is the person and what is her/his relationship to you? (PLEASE NO NAMES! A descriptor will do, such as “my former coach”, “my next door neighbor”, “my grandfather”, etc.)

4b. Do you think this person is sexually active? Explain your response

5. How do you feel when you entertain the idea that this person is “sexually active”? Explain your response. (You don’t need to picture this in your head; rather simply try to acknowledge that they engage in sexual activity.)

international Enterpreunership (1) custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Assessment Outline CW 1: 100% Weighting Learning outcomes to be assessed: 1, 2 Part 1: Group Report Working in groups and using a variety of models and frameworks, you will be asked to develop an international market entry plan for an organisation. You will need to research the product/service and the market, decide on three countries to enter and demonstrate how you would implement those entries. The output must explain your decisions and your reasoning, and must be predominantly visual. It will be either a poster or a video. Part 2: Individual Report Individually, critically evaluate the process you have undertaken in Part 1 and reflect on what you have learnt. The output will be a written report of 1000-1500 words supported by a concept map. Organisation Rober Limited is a small UK manufacturer in the healthcare market and is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The company designs, assembles, tests and sells bariatric pressure mattresses which are used for the prevention and treatment of pressure sores or pressure ulcers. Pressure sores result when patients have been lying in the same position in bed for extended periods and is especially problematic for those who are more confined to bed and/or less able to move. Under these circumstances, the same parts of their bodies are in contact with the mattress and hence the skin will be under continuous pressure. The skin starts to rub, becomes red and irritated, eventually starts to bleed and becomes very painful for the patient. One solution is to use a mattress composed of air chambers which can be inflated and deflated in a set order over a specified cycle. This means that the weight of the patient?s body is not always resting on the same points as alternate chambers will be inflated or deflated. Rober Limited subcontracts the manufacture of the air chamber mattresses to a sister company, Speed Plastics. Electrical power units, air pumps and control equipment are also sourced from various suppliers. All these components are then assembled in Chesterfield into the full bariatric mattress systems which are supplied to customers. The systems are made on an ?as required? basis to fulfill specific orders and are not made to stock. There are 5 models of mattress which range from approx ?800 for the lowest specification to approx ?2,700 for the highest specification. Although each model is a standard design, there are small customizations possible such as mattress dimensions and electrical power connectors. Approx. 800 mattresses are sold per annum. Rober Limited has recently been bought by the parent company of Speed Plastics and relocated from Essex to the Speed Plastics site in Chesterfield. Overseas sales are made through an existing array of distributors in Western Europe and Australia, although only the distributors in Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Australia are active. Orders from the others are intermittent at best. The company website is http://www.roberlimited.com Additional Criteria: ? No direct contact (eg by phone, email, mail etc) with Rober Limited, any of its distributors or any of its competitors is permitted. The only source of information regarding these organisations is that which is available in the public domain. ? Any contravention of this point will result in this part of the assignment being capped at a D-. Detailed Task ? Part 1 of Assignment (worth 50%) Using a variety of models and frameworks, develop an international market entry strategy for Rober Limited which identifies three overseas target markets. These markets should be in the healthcare sector but could be on a country and/or regional basis. You will need to: 1. research the products (eg features, competitors etc) 2. research possible healthcare markets (eg size, customers etc) 3. research possible countries and/or regions (eg financial implications, cultural aspects etc) 4. analyse and evaluate the information produced 5. decide on three target markets to enter 6. demonstrate how you would implement those market entries 7. explain your reasoning and justify your decisions The output for Part 1 of the Assignment will be in the form of either a poster or a video. The output should at least cover the points 1.? 7. above and should be clear and predominantly visual. Output as Poster: If you decide to do a poster, it should be A3 size and can be either portrait or landscape. It should be computer generated and the company directors should be able to follow your decisions and reasoning. One copy of the poster should be uploaded to the Assessment area on Blackboard course resources by the due date. Output as Video(s): If you decide to do a video, the total length should be between 4 and 9 minutes long. It can be either a ?live action? video using a video camera or smartphone, or a screen capture video using software such as Jing or Camtasia for PC/Windows or Screenflow for Mac. The company directors should be able to follow your decisions and reasoning. One copy of the video(s) should be uploaded to the Assessment area on Blackboard course resources by the due date. Detailed Task ? Part 2 of Assignment (worth 50%) Critically evaluate the process you have undertaken in Part 1 and reflect on what you have learnt. Bourner (2003) suggests some questions that might recognised as the tools of the critical thinker and the reflective thinker in the process of interrogating ideas, evidence and assertions. See Appendix 1 ? Critical Thinking. The output for Part 2 of the Assignment will be in the form of a written report of 1,000-1,500 words supported by a concept map or mind map. Output: The concept map or mind map will be A4 size and will show the relationships of the ideas and themes covered by your critical evaluation and reflection. It may be hand drawn or produced using mind map software. If hand drawn, it will need to be scanned so that it can be stored electronically. One copy of the report and mind map should be uploaded to the Blackboard Assessment area by the due date. Harvard referencing to be used throughout the assignment where appropriate. CAN THE PRINCIPLE OF ‘ONE PERSON CUSTOM ESSAY

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Please provide an analysis of the attached article (
CAN THE PRINCIPLE OF ‘ONE PERSON – ONE LANGUAGE’ BE DISREGARDED AS UNREALISTICALLY ELITIST? By Susanne Döpke) whose abstract is found below:

ABSTRACT

Early accounts of the achievement of bilingualism in children of dual–language

couples stressed the importance of clear language differentiation according to a

principle called ‘one person–one language’. This approach has come under attack

recently as being elitist and atypical of bilinguals, and largely unrealistic. Proponents

of these criticisms fail to see the benefits that knowledge of the factors which can

make bilingualism succeed under these conditions can have for families in a diverse

range of bilingual situations. The ‘one person–one language’ principle will be

conceptualised as successful because it invokes principles of language maintenance

relevant for bilingual societies on the level of individual families. This is seen as

important in situations where societal support is minimal or non-existent.

Communication Climate custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

After reading the chapter answer the following questions:
1) Pick one concept from the chapter, define it, share a clip with the class that illustrates that concept (provide the link), then explain how it relates to the concept.

2) The assertive message format can be difficult to apply without practice. After reading chapter 10, write a message that you would like to send another person. Use the techniques of the clear message format:
1. Describe a behavior without adding a judgment.
2. Interpret the behavior by explaining how you perceive it.
3. Disclose how the behavior makes you feel.
4. Explain the consequences or the result of the behavior.
5. Finally, state your intention.
Remember that these statements don?t have to be in this precise order. Your clear message should be written in your words. It is possible to combine your messages. For example, you can combine an interpretation and a feeling in one sentence. Try to avoid hot button words or phrasing that will create defensiveness.

You do not have to tell us to whom your message is addressed. In fact, your message does not have to be addressed to a real person. It can be a hypothetical message as long as it is a message you might really need to communicate. As your write your message remember that you are making a disclosure in a public forum. Share appropriately.

After reading the McBride (2010) article answer the following questions:

3) Share an example (personally or from the media) where romantic partners reconcile after talking negatively about one another to important others? How does this discourse threaten one’s face?

4) What face corrective strategies do you think would be most effective? Why?

(Do Not find any reference) (This is not an essay, only answer the questions) ( read and use my upload file)
