[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

You need to get the following information from the attached Evaluation Report, everything you might need is in there. You only need to do the first part of the group project which is the “Program Description”

? Objectives of the program (tangible measures that can be obtained for program success, measures that have been collected for this program.

The influence of music on popular culture between 1900-1950 custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Historiography Paper: This paper will be 3 to 4 pages in length (using 1-inch margins, 12 size font, Times New Roman font, double spaced type). The minimum number of pages is 3 FULL pages (not 2 pages with half of a third page). Include a cover page and a ?Works Cited? page (these pages do not count toward the page requirements). You are REQUIRED to cite all sources using the TURABIAN STYLE (ALSO KNOWN AS CHICAGO STYLE). DO NOT USE MLA FORMAT. You are REQUIRED to use footnotes, using the footnote feature of the word processor (endnotes and parenthetical citation are NOT allowed). USE QUOTE MARKS WHEN PULLING INFORMATION FROM ANY SOURCE. ANY NON-CITED CUT/PASTED INFORMATION IN THE PAPER WILL RESULT IN A SCORE OF ZERO FOR THE PAPER.

This paper is designed to allow you to explore what historians have written about your Topic of Interest, as well as to see how historians often disagree about the same event. The paper will be evaluated for content, grammar, logic, pertinence to the topic, and thoughtfulness. You can use sources from any academic history publication (peer reviewed). Do not use sources that only describe events and people. You are looking for sources that actually interpret or discuss the importance of the events and people. A review of a book is not an acceptable source for this assignment. AT LEAST 3 SOURCES from peer reviewed history journals are required for this assignment (the textbook and sources not in peer reviewed journals will NOT count as a source).

To do this assignment:
1. Discuss how each author states his/her ideas and arguments.
2. Discuss whether the authors make effective arguments (are you convinced their interpretation is correct, or is there doubt in your mind?)
3. Discuss the kind of sources do the authors use (see the History Terms and Library Tutorial for more information on types of sources)
4. Finally, compare and contrast the different authors? interpretations of the topic.

THIS IS NOT A ?REPORT? ON THE SOURCES! IT IS A PAPER THAT WILL SHOW HOW DIFFERENT AUTHORS VIEW AND ARGUE ABOUT THE SAME EVENT.

DO NOT USE ANY SOURCE THAT IS A ?BOOK REVIEW.? THAT IS HOW HISTORIANS CRITIQUE EACH OTHERS? BOOKS. ALTHOUGH IMPORTANT, THESE ARE NOT THE FOCUS OF THIS ASSIGNMENT. IN A SENSE, YOU WILL BE REVIEWING OTHER HISTORIANS? ARTICLES.

Secondary Curriculum Standards: A Parent Guide to Common Core custom essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Secondary Curriculum Standards: A Parent Guide to Common Core
In nearly every US state and territory, the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are transforming K-12 education. Currently, the CCSS in English and mathematics, developed under the direction of the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers, have been adopted by a majority of states. Common Core standards will provide consistent academic benchmarks for all students, regardless of where they live. Building on the strength of current state standards, the CCSS are designed to be focused, coherent, clear and rigorous; internationally benchmarked; anchored in college and career readiness; and evidence and research based. A common set of learning goals helps teachers and parents ensure students are challenged and making appropriate progress.
Successful implementation of the Common Core State Standards requires a curriculum to be a well-defined set of research-based experiences in which students and teachers are engaged to attain understanding and achievement of outcomes and expectations aligned to the standards. Informing parents about the new Common Core Standards and the kinds of things their children will be learning in each grade is extremely important.
A wealth of informational resources can be found at http://www.corestandards.org/
Some of the more popular sections of the site include:
? Mission Statement
? State Approval of Standards
? English Language Arts & Literacy Standards (PDF)
? Mathematics Standards (PDF)

Directions
For this assignment, you will learn about the national perspective to the CCSS and its impact on parents. You will be given the opportunity to plan your approach for communicating and informing families and caregivers about your state?s Common Core Standards.
? You may begin by previewing the PowerPoint presentation and watching the Common Core Standards Webinar recorded on June 30, 2010.
? Watch the video on Teaching Channel – Common Core State Standards: High School

https://www.teachingchannel.org/videos/common-core-state-standards-high-school
? Read the article: Tying Together the Common Core of Standards, Instruction, and Assessments by Vicki Phillips and Carina Wong
ELCI 6523 Secondary School Curriculum

Consider you own school district?s relationship with parents in light of the CCSS, and plan how you can communicate the importance of the Common Core initiative for secondary students.
For this assignment, you will create an informative flyer/brochure/newsletter of at least two pages that informs parents of Common Core State Standards and expectations. Please write this document in consumer-friendly language.
As you design your project, you must include the following sections (but not limited to):
1. Brief introductory language about the Common Core and how it will help secondary students (grades 9-12) be better prepared for advancement by the end of high school
2. Share your state?s/district?s/school?s messages about the Common Core
3. Include the major changes for math and language arts curriculum at the secondary level
4. Provide the school timeline for implementation and assessment ? this will explain the process the district plans to go through to integrate CCSS
5. The school?s plan for parent information and collaboration
6. A list of helpful, informative online resources

Author Unknown (2011 June 18). Old Navy Campaign Targets Men. Advertising Age
Looking at BACKGROUND4, as well as what you learned in Modules 1, 2, and 3, follow these directives and answer these questions:
Imagine you have been hired as a consultant to the VP of marketing for Old Navy. The VP wants to get an objective opinion from someone outside the company who is familiar with current marketing basics.
Your job is to
(1) Write a short memo ? 750-1000 words – critically analyzing Old Navy’s promotion strategy. In particular, note that the company has decided to use online video instead of television. What assumptions did they make about the viewing habits of their target market? Do you believe their assumptions have a basis in reality? What could they have done differently and why?
(2) Add a paragraph or two stating why you would NOT use a particular strategy and Why.
Don’t spend a lot of time digging in the company?s website. Focus on the background readings. There are no right answers; after all, you don’t have inside information. You will be evaluated on your understanding of the background materials and your logic and reasoning. In particular, you need to show your understanding of the way a change in target market affects the company’s promotion strategy.
Don’t just rehash what the company did. Introduce a critical perspective. Use the readings from this module and feel free to incorporate what you learned in Modules 1-2-3, as well.
Submit your 750-1000 word CASE4 to Coursenet.
Expectations with regard to your References and Defense of Your Positions
To make it easier for you instructor to grade your paper, it is expected that you will use the above directives and/or questions as titles placing your responses to those directives and/or questions below each.
It is expected that you will back up your positions or opinions with references to the required readings found in Background1-2-3-4 and Ongoing Useful Resources. In using those references, it is expected that you will demonstrate your understanding of the concepts presented. Therefore, rather than grade on how much information you find about the product that is the subject of CASE4; the emphasis in grading your paper will be on your defense of the positions you take with regard to the issues in the above directives and questions. In effect, you are expected to write clearly, simply and logically. And, in terms of that logic, remember that:
(1) the “why” is more important than the “what,” and
(2) the defense of your positions on the issues is more important than the positions you take..
It is expected that you will NOT repeat or quote definitions. Your use of the required readings to support your opinions (that is, contentions or positions) should demonstrate that you understand the concepts presented in those required readings.
It is expected that you will not include definitions or summaries of the readings. It is also expected that you will not describe what the company did. Instead, your responses to the Questions should be analytical and should demonstrate that (a) you understand the principles from the background reading and (b) you can apply them to this particular case. Vague, general answers about targeting will not earn a good grade.
It is expected that you will avoid redundancy and general statements such as “All organizations exist to make a profit.” It is expected that you will make every sentence count.
It is expected that you will paraphrase the facts you find into your own words and ideas. In other words, use quotes sparingly. And, as a rule of thumb, quotes, if absolutely necessary, should be not much longer than 5 words.
It is expected that when you write an academically-oriented paper of this type, much of the information you uncover will be facts about the product. Even if you paraphrase those facts, you should cite in your text the source for those facts and link those citations to references at the end of your paper.
