The effectiveness of early intervention to improve attention or play skills with children with autism Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Students will write their literature review as it will appear in their final paper/ project report. Students must review at least 10 studies that directly relate to the focus/purpose of their project. These 10 studies must report original data (i.e., they must not be reviews of other studies or opinion papers). The topic name is
The effectiveness of early intervention to improve attention or play skills with children with autism
I upload for you 6 articles and I want you to find 4 studies report orginal data

The purpose of a literature review is to provide a picture of the current state of knowledge regarding a specific area of research. A good review will provide a good summary, synthesis, and critique of the research.

Pay careful attention to how the authors of these articles organize and write their introductions and literature reviews (i.e., how they summarize, synthesize, and critique previous research on their topic). In writing your literature review, you should IMITATE the terminology, style, and structure that published authors use.

Here are some general guidelines for summarizing, synthesizing, and critiquing research in a literature review.:

• To provide an adequate descriptive SUMMARY of the research you are reviewing, specific information should be provided about each study. Your review should allow the reader to obtain a good understanding of participants, settings, types of interventions, dependent variables/outcome measures, design/methods, important findings, and implications for practice. While extremely detailed information is generally unnecessary (e.g., means, standard deviations, exact percentages, F and t values, minute details about the participants, etc.), the summary should provide a complete picture of the research. Please make sure this information is included in an organized way (some parallel structure for each study description is ideal, but be careful to avoid simply LISTING the elements of each study one after the other, see synthesis, below). KEY IDEA—PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSARY INFORMATION, BUT NO MORE.

• To provide an adequate SYNTHESIS of the research you are reviewing, make sure you compare and contrast studies/findings to provide an overall picture of what is known, what is not known, what is still unresolved, etc., about the topic. Transition from one study to the next in a way that highlights similarities (“Smith and Jones (2001) also examined the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral intervention…”) and/or differences (“In contrast, Conroy and Selig (2003) found that psychotherapy was ineffective…”). It is important to synthesize findings from all of the studies, e.g., considering all of the findings, talk about how effective a particular intervention appears to be—very effective? Somewhat effective? Effective for some, or in some settings, but not for others? Are findings consistent, inconsistent? Similarly, if you are reviewing descriptive research, compare and contrast studies and note where findings are consistent or inconsistent, etc. KEY IDEA—TELL THE STORY OF THE RESEARCH.

• To provide an adequate CRITIQUE of the research you are reviewing, you should include, in brief comments, some logical interpretation of findings (why different studies had somewhat or very different findings), some description of limitations of the research (representativeness of participants, methodological problems or weaknesses, important questions that remain unanswered), and some description of the relative strength of the research and so on. KEY IDEA—EVALUATE THE KNOWLEDGE BASE

This is the last chapter in the first unit of the texbook, and this unit has been all about persuading you that learning to do analysis is worth the challenge and that you can un-learn Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Wadsworth/Cengage Learning 2012 Read carefully, and make sure you fully understand what you are reading. This is the last chapter in the first unit of the texbook, and this unit has been all about persuading you that learning to do analysis is worth the challenge and that you can "un-learn" less productive ways of thinking and develop new habits that will make you smarter. This chapter offers concrete advice about how to succeed in creating writing that fulfills some of the most common basic writing tasks you will be asked to provide during the remainder of your college years and beyond. Keep in mind, as you read this chapter, that these strategies are ways of helping you develop more and better ideas and to achieve greater success while writing inside the traditional forms.
When you have finished your "close reading" of Chapter 7, do Assignment #1 on page 160: "Write Two Summaries of the Same Article or Book Chapter." USE CHAPTER 10 OF WRITING ANALYTICALLY AS THE BOOK CHAPTER YOU SUMMARIZE. Follow directions carefully; take note of the directions that your first summary should be no more than one typed page (it should also be no less!), and your second summary should be twice that long (at least two typed pages, but not much more).

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Guidelines: The following are offered as guidelines in writing the book review.

Exploratory Synthesis: Synthesizing and Paraphrasing Research Sources Purpose: To give you the opportunity to practice synthesizing and paraphrasing. your sources for your research paper based on your annotated bibliography.

Format: 2-3 pages (2 complete pages minimum; 12 point font; 1 inch margin all
sides; typed and double-spaced; plus Title Page and Works Cited page.

The report will be a comparison between consumption of fast food (takeaways) and fruit and vegetables amongst New Zealand teenagers/young people Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Prepare a report on marketing research findings

The report will be a comparison between consumption of fast food (takeaways) and fruit and vegetables amongst New Zealand teenagers/young people (ages 18 to 20 plus years). You need to write the report as if your client is a major fast food chain in New Zealand, looking to expand further into this teenage/young people market, and wanting to know much more about this group’s food choices. You choose the client. It must be an existing company from the following: McDonalds; Burger King (BK); Burger Fuel; Wendy’s; Carl’s Junior; KFC; Hell Pizza; Pizza Hut.
Management decision problem:
To identify the most appropriate approach for marketing to gain an increased share of the fast-growing, fast food spending and food choice behaviours of teenagers or young people.
Marketing research problem:
To identify key issues and consumption trends in the fast food market, in the fruit and vegetable market, and the importance of this teenage/young people segment as a consumer group.

Research objectives:
a) Identify the size and trends (changes over time) in the fast food market and in the fruit and vegetable market.
b) Identify the profile of teenage/young people fast food consumers (using no more than 4 variables) and identify the importance of either market. It is strongly recommended that at least one demographic variable and one psychographic variable are used.
c) Identify the total amount spent on promoting fast food consumption for each of the past 3 years; compare this with the total amount spent on promoting fruit and vegetable consumption over the same time frame (where relevant). Include a comparison of the amount spent and types of media for at least three of the above fast food companies (including your own client).
d) Identify attitudes to fast food consumption and fruit and vegetable consumption among this group.

The blog is your personal reflection, but it should engage,(but really need to reflect readings which websites are posted below) in a bit of detail, with aspects of the required readings Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

The blog is your personal reflection, but it should engage,(but really need to reflect readings which websites are posted below) in a bit of detail, with aspects of the required readings( just below of this formation) and other preparations for that . Obviously, you need to have done the readings , and engage with these in the blog posts. That is, don’t just take one word or topic from the week and then have no further engagement with the ideas and events discussed in the readings and other preparations.
You can be creative about this, Your blog posts will have to include responses to reading material, Specifically you will have to respond to the topics .You will need to explore, think through and write about your own pathways through the issues and ideas.
You should briefly publish your reflections in writing, in images, in video form, audio, and
collections of links, feeds and so on (you do not have to use all of these! If you want, you
can choose one and stick to it. It’s up to you). You have a choice of formats for reflection
and publishing, and you can mix up these formats as you go. Your blog can of course link
out to other sites (on, for example, Flickr or YouTube) on which you may have published
your reflections in other media forms than writing. It can also include feeds and links you
are collecting.
You need to think about this. You reflect not only on the things we’re thinking about on the course. You also need to reflect on how you’re going to make this interesting for others, in a sustained way This is “Your demonstrated engagement with the materials/readings/preparatory explorations for that week of the course”.
That’s probably the easy part, if you keep up with the work. The harder but more interesting part is to make this reflection work as a short piece of writing. This is the third criterion, “Your synthesis (bringing together) of the ideas, practices and issues you’re dealing with in that week into a satisfactory form of expression you can publish.” This will require you to develop your own thinking about these issues. You’ll also have to develop your writing (or image creation, audio, etc).
Writing Content should include readings and topic below
Topic: “Global Mnemotechnics”—
Globalising Memory, Thinking and Action
Individual, Social and Global Memory (as well as attention and “protention”)/
Media, Thinking and Acting
First up, what are your assumptions about how thinking processes work? Perception?
Memory? “Protention” (projections into the future)? Feeling and being affected by the
world? Sensation? How do perception, sensation, thinking and feelings relate? What is
consciousness? What is attention?
how your (various) assumptions about all the above make
for different assumptions about media, media change, society and social change? Try to
think through the relations between perception, thinking, memory, protention, etc, in a
variety of media/social contexts.
Thirdly, what do the readings and videos for this topic—concerning embodied and
extended mind, and technics and memory—tell you about memory, perception, thinking/
feeling etc? How might this lead you to think differently about media, media change,
society and social change? Again, try to think through these relations in a variety of
contexts. Many of these ideas are controversial but they are also, now, very common. And
you can of course, disagree, but what are your alternatives? To what extent, and at what
level of human experience, are media technologies part of perception/thinking/memory/
protention/feeling etc. And how do your own assumptions and models come into the
practical realities of media engagements?
Fourthly, consider the impact of the globalisation of media technologies (what Stiegler calls
“global mnemotechnics”), or the increased complexity of media technologies, on human
experience.
Finally, have you changed your understanding of new media, cultural and social change?
What can we say generally about this? When do we need to be more specific?
18Required Readings/Explorations (quite short, but lots of ideas … try and get to
some of the extra resources if you can)
[right here] First up, the extra sections in this course outline for this week are
important reading, as they ground everything else

[online] Stiegler, Bernard (n.d.) ‘Anamnesis and Hypomnesis: Plato as the first
thinker of the proletarianisation’ <http://arsindustrialis.org/anamnesis-andhypomnesis> (you are only required to read some of the beginning, from the start,
down to the words ‘which destroys the world heedlessly.’ After that things get
complex! Those who enjoy a challenge read the rest. It’s actually pretty interesting.
Or, you can skim.)
