This will be a twelve page research paper dealing with Al Qaeda, its ideology, aims, and strategy. who and what shaped and influence it? Attached will be a research proposal which essentially outlines and talks about how the paper is to be presented and done.focus on the research questions i propose in that document to write the paper. I will also provide a list of books which you must use as sources, as well as a few journal articles. There must be a minimum of 15 sources, using all of the ones i list. Two must be the journals I provide or else it is a nogo, i recommend using more. The paper must have a thesis statement. It will be cited using chicago of manual style, using proper footnotes and a bibliography. I will provide a citing information guide, two of them. This will make this easier and prevent problems with formatting and plagiarism. Focus on Al Qaeda in the 1990’s, ie leading up to 9/11, not al qaeda today.
a bio of bin laden will also be important to understand what shaped bin ladens thought. consider experience- fighting the soviets etc and as well as ideas. The proposal will give you a good point to start. the sources i list must be used, a minimum of two of the
journal entries i provide must also be used. any primary sources on bin laden will also be good, 15 minimum sources. The paper does not
have to be ready in 10 days but by dec, 10. extensions can be accepted until then, however i need the research statement by 1 dec. Feel

data, but they will be there.
