The last task in the course involves the proposal of a research project by each student. The research project is designed to incorporate every aspect of the course from the beginning chapter to the appendix.
The elements expected in the research proposal are the following:
1. A clear research question(s) for which your proposed research project would provide an answer(s).
2. An extensive review of the literature on the project being proposed; this part constitutes the introduction to your research report.
3. A description of the method you propose to employ to address the research question(s). This section requires you to describe the participants, material or apparatus to be used, the procedure for collecting your data, and the general design of your study.
4. The results you anticipate after conducting the study, and the type of analysis you propose to conduct on the data to enable you get the answer(s) to your question(s)
5. A discussion of your results and how they address your initial research question(s).
6. All the elements of a research proposal are covered in appendix A with a sample of how a research paper should be on pages 341-358 of your textbook. You are to follow the exact format in the sample paper. The format is out there for you so failure to follow it will result in a loss of points. There is no excuse not to follow the format.
7. The entire research proposal should be at a minimum 15 pages (double spacing from beginning to the end. The 15 pages do not include the appendix and reference pages of your report.
8. The project also requires the use and citation of a minimum of 10 research articles from peer-reviewed journals in the production of the report.
9. The research proposal is to be written in the future tense, and should not include the use of personal pronouns.
10. Please note that the essence of Appendix A outline is to inform and teach you about how to write in the APA style. Please follow the directions closely to produce your research report.
11. Failure to adhere to the guidelines and the format in the sample research report will not be treated lightly because you have the sample before you. All you have to do is follow it the way it is laid out for you to see in your textbook.
All students in the course are required to do the following:
