This is the second reflection assignment in this course. It is another opportunity to share with other students your relationship to a rural community that is meaningful to you. It is also an opportunity for you to reflect on that relationship to better understand how you might make a contribution to the livelihood of a rural community.
You are required to read the reflections of the class members and post responses to at least two of them within the next two days. Remember to recognize the sincerity of your peer?s reflections.
Identify a small rural community of more than 1,000 and less than 10,000 population (it could be your own, one in which you would like to live, or one that is meaningful to your family) in Iowa or Nebraska (or your own rural community in another state) to visit on-line and/or in person. Identify as much data of the sort examined in the study on Irwin, Iowa as you can. You can find much of it on the community web site (you will need to find a community that has one), and much of it at the county level (university extension data from a land grant university). Answer the following questions in your typed (approximately 3 double-spaced pages) summary.
