Pre-meeting Assignment: An interview with a school facilities planner or business manager or principal or superintendent is required. With specific regard to school business administration and/or facilities management, the student should endeavor to learn about the individual’s preparation for the position, the main responsibilities of the position and the attendant pitfalls, and the relationship the individual sees to site-based business administration and facilities management. A written synopsis, including the student’s response to the interview, will be submitted electronically no later than January 13, 2012, 5:00 PM. (You may interview someone in your home district or in another district, but that person may be interviewed only once. Each student should choose a different interviewee.) Please use a narrative format for your submission not a question-and-answer format. Below were the guidance questions used:
1. What non-instructional functions are the responsibility of the school principal?
2. How is she or he oriented to oversee these functions?
3. What are the accountability measures for these functions?
