Leadership occurs in context and is increasingly complex due to globalisation and a myriad of ethical considerations.
The successful leader is able to synthesise varied knowledge, draw conclusions, and exercise judgement appropriate for a particular context or situation. To facilitate this synthesis and provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills you will need to complete your dissertation, the focus of the Module Project will be the critical analysis of a business case.
Specifically, you will critically assess how ethics, gender, and the leadership theories you explore in this module impact the following business case.

In this project, you will provide answers based on the theories, approaches, and other information you acquire throughout the module as well as your own research.
Assignment;
In the final submission, in Week 7, submit approximately 5,000 words in which you address the following:
Synthesise theories and models from the module readings and literature that address the issue in the case.
Utilise effective discussion, analysis, and conclusions showing critical thinking to propose solutions to the case and address the following questions:
Should a private investigation be conducted and why?
Define and contrast the gender theories of leadership as well as the perspectives on ethical leadership. How are they different and how are they related?
How does gender impact this case?
Identify the contextual cues or aspects of organisational culture that affect the new CEO’s decision making.
Discuss one or more of the leadership approaches and/or theories that would be most helpful to the CEO in this case and why.
What outcomes should be expected if the leader adopts any such approaches?
‘This article explores the barriers facing people of color in reaching leadership positions in non-profit organizations, why it matters and what can be done about it. Non-profits continue to be the source and sustenance of social justice movements in our nation. Consider how a lack of diversity in a non-profit organization might go directly against the desired impact of their mission. The article concludes with leadership development approaches to developing multicultural awareness and expanding leadership capacity among people of color.
Format,
1. Introduction – this could include some background information on the topic, the aim and value of the project, the aim of the literature review and a short synopsis.
2. Key Issues – present and discuss the key issues of the case.
3. Literature review summary – this is best presented as a table providing the citations, the purpose of each paper, their major findings, the weaknesses of the research, the strengths of the research, and key issues for further research.
4. Discussion of the Literature – compare and contrast your literature review with the theories discussed in the text and weekly readings. Do any of the approaches discussed in the summary table above compensate for the weaknesses of some of the theories you explored in this module? If so, explain why.
5. Conclusion – this section should synthesise the points that you have made throughout the paper and draw some conclusions about the literature. In fact, a final “end product” may well be a leadership framework which brings together all the strengths of the varying research that you have evaluated whilst leaving out, or reducing, the weaknesses. analyse the case study extensively as that is the focus
6. Bibliography – which should be properly formatted and correspond to the appropriate citations within the body of the text.
The depth of your literature review will be achieved by the breadth of literature uncovered and your cross-comparison/synthesis of it. Completing your integration question will also help you with your research for your module project. Hopefully, by now you will be fully versed with the instructions but if you need a little reminder, you will find them in the Module Introduction.
