Thought Exercise 3 – JCPenny & Co going downhill Custom Paper

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

JCPenny is in a great deal of difficulty, it is in the process of stating bankruptcy, its loosing customers, stocks going down, the company is dying. The professor’s view on this exercise is to try and tie "culture" to a possible turnaround. here are the things that needs to be done for this exercise: 1- Analyze JCPenny’s Culture: look at JCPenny as it is now and get a sense of what is its culture. **when analyzing the culture we have to understand the elements, components and concepts, don’t just google "the culture of JCPenny" find the important ones. 2- Explain why its dysfunctional: when you have a failing company it most certainly has a dysfunctional culture, explain why isn’t it working, why is it dysfunctional. **Come to your own conclusion about why its a dysfunctional culture. dont just google it. 3- How would you change the culture to help turnaround JCPenny: act as organizational development consultant, make suggestions about how you would change the culture at JCPenny to help turn the company around to repair it or fix it. **Be realistic about hat can be done and what cant be done. HINTS: – Stick to broad issues in terms of Penny’s culture, don’t get caught up with little details. – Identify the most important or central aspects of culture and work on changing them, work on changing those kinds of the culture rather than trying to change everything. – Number of sources doesn’t matter, you can use more or less that the number i put with the order, as long as all parts and questions are covered on the paper.

Financial Analysis: Your analysis must include written explanations from the Annual Report of why changes occurred between the years that were greater than 5% Custom Paper

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Your analysis must include written explanations from the Annual Report of why changes occurred between the years that were greater than 5% (e.g., Abigail died and left you $1 Million unrestricted donations, board paid out bonuses early, miscounted supplies, etc). Do not write $45,999,999 in your papers. It is $46 million. This is an academic paper, please write it as such. Do not bulk up your paper with numbers. That’s not the point. The point is to explain the changes. Remember the reader has the excel sheets, so it’s better to say "X increased by 5% because of X" than "X was 56,555,555 and now it is 55,444,444. This means nothing to the reader. If you have questions about this, please ask them early

Islam; The terrorist attacks in the U.S. on September 11, 2001 where both sobering and tragic Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

The terrorist attacks in the U.S. on September 11, 2001 where both sobering and tragic. As with other sensless acts of violence, it is important to periodically reflect on such events, mourn the deaths of those victimized through them, support the families of those who have lost loved ones, and dialogue with others to find ways to move forward and do everything possible to stop such tragedies from occuring again. Certaininly 9/11 had many consequences, many of which remain unresolved. One example is the controversy surrounding the planned Islamic community center and prayer space near Ground Zero in NYC. Though this story has been all over the media and has in some ways obscured the rememberance this year of those killed in the 9/11 tragedy (who, let us not forget, included a number of Muslims), there has been little coverage on the long-term consequences of 9/11 on Muslim families across the nation. Here is a podcast from several years ago that tells the story of one Muslim family who suffered greatly from the treatment a young girl received in school in the months following 9/11. (NOTE: The story itself starts at 6:23 of the podcast after an introduction.)

Analysis, Learner and Context Analysis, and Performance Objectives Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Now we are in Analysis Phase, This is the guide line.

As you know we are pretty much following the standard ADDIE model of instructional design: Analysis, Design,

Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. At this level of abstraction, it may resemble a general approach to

solving problems in a host of different fields. More specific models of the ID process, such as that presented in

the popular textbook by Dick, Carey, and Carey, have more specific steps. In fact, we are pretty much following

that one as well.
We are now completing the Analysis Phase of ADDIE, which I define as Needs Assessment, Goal and Instructional

Analysis, Learner and Context Analysis, and Performance Objectives. Others may have slightly different

definitions, but there is always substantial overlap. Next we will move into Designing the instruction.
Notice that in the ADDIE model, the Analysis Phase (AP) can take a lot of time. This is in contrast to other

approaches to instruction, in which one often jumps much more quickly into the actual instruction. In my feedback

to many of you I asked you to do that at this point. The goal of the AP is to gain a detailed understanding of

what we are going to teach, why it is important to teach, who we are going to teach it to, and what the

situations of teaching and performance are. We also want to to have a set of objectives that clearly indicate

what people will know and do at the end of the instruction. Often we have stakeholders sign off on these

objectives when they are complete.
Having all these things in hand will make it possible for us to develop the assessments we will give to students

and design the instruction so that people meet the objectives and do well on the assessments. At least that is

the hope.
There are many questions about this phase. Is it all really necessary? Can it be shortened and simplified? Does

it have to be done every time? What about teachers out there in the field who cannot spend this amount of time

and efort on every lesson?
We will discuss some of those in the discussion boards and come back to them at the end of the semester.
