Schank and Abelson.

Schank and Abelson say: “If we construct our own version of truth by reliance upon skeleton stories, two people can know exactly the same facts, but construct a story that relays those facts in very different ways. Because they are using different story skeletons, their perspectives will vary.”
Write a paper in which you describe and analyze one of the following:
A.A divorce or break up story you know about. This could be something you have experienced, heard about or read about –including “Shiloh” or "The Disappearance" — even a celebrity divorce story (cite sources and be sure to explain so that a reader unfamiliar with the case will understand it). You may even interview people that you know!

OR
B. Any other conflict between two people that you know about: this could be a parent-child conflict, a conflict between friends or siblings. Whatever. This might be a more difficult topic than "A" since you don’t have the ready-made story skeletons to use as you do in a divorce story. You will have to figure out new skeletons.
Parts of the paper: This paper should have 5 parts, indicated by bolded headings.
Introduction: give a brief overview of the story you will tell and mention Schank and Abelson (You can even quote the paragraph above that I quoted from them! It’s a good opening). Make sure the reader knows that you will tell two versions of the story and also analyze it according to skeletons proposed by S&A.
Narrative, Part I: Tell one person’s side of the story. Give him or her a name, not just "my friend." You can always use a fake name. You may write in first person, adopting the voice of the two tellers (using "I" as in "In A Grove") or third person, as in "Shiloh"
Narrative, Part II: Tell the other person’s side, using the same style as part I, first or third person.
Do not mention story skeletons in the narratives. Just tell two versions of the story.
Analysis: based on your knowledge of Schank and Abelson 4,” what are the underlying skeletons the two people are using, and what skeletons have the tellers perhaps left out? You may take the names for the skeletons from S&A4, though you may modify them to fit your stories. Quote at least three times from Schank and Abelson.
Conclusion, sum up what is important about what you have said.

What do Investors Look for in a Business Plan? Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

For each paper provide the following: 1. Summarize the main ideas of the article and identify the section of the paper you’re citing. For example: "On page 25, paragraph two, the authors identified that the marketing and finance sections are the two most important parts of a business play. Unfortunately, entrepreneurs tend to ignore customer acceptance of their product or service and also exaggerate sales and profits during the first two years of operation." I would consider these two sentences as 44 words as the first five words regarding the research paper location don’t count. 2. Identify how the contents of the paper might be applicable to a business idea you have. Describe the business idea briefly so I have a good idea of what you’re referring to. Again, make sure to identify the section of the paper you’re citing.

Employment law; “Are there any status alternatives. Look at how sort Directives talk about ‘workers’ rather than ’employees’. What is the difference? Custom Essay

Employment law; “Are there any status alternatives. Look at how sort Directives talk about ‘workers’ rather than ’employees’. What is the difference?”

It can be argued that the traditional legal dichotomy between employee and independent contractor is now too simplistic to fit our diverse workforce, and leaves too many people potentially in a hole in the middle. One way to avoid (or at least mitigate) this, would be to move the goal posts and extend the definition of employee
To what degree do you agree with the above statement?
Explore the tests. Consider the effectiveness of the tests in the context of non-standard employees such as homeworkers, part-timers and agency workers.

Management; IKEA’s Global Sourcing Challenge as well as the article “Experimental Roots of Revolutionary Vision.” Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Ingvar Kamprad and IKEA,” and the case “IKEA’s Global Sourcing Challenge (A),” as well as the article “Experimental Roots of Revolutionary Vision.” IKEA’s managers must balance the trade-offs in trying to pursue a low cost strategy, with the challenges this creates in sourcing goods from low wage countries. The first case, while old, provides good information on founding of IKEA, and its entrepreneurial roots. The second case provides some specific information on the challenges of dealing with the media, as well as the challenges of dealing with suppliers. (You are not expected to directly address the rug issue in your write-up; this case was assigned just so you see the types of challenges a successful firm can face.) The “Experimental Roots” article provides another perspective on how firms achieve success. All of these cases are a few years old, and do not contain the most recent information on IKEA. After reading the assigned material, update your knowledge by consulting other sources for the current state of IKEA’s strategy and its performance. Then, considering the challenges and opportunities facing IKEA today, write an analysis suggesting what IKEA’s managers should do to maximize their success (however you want to define this) going forward. Be sure to gather information from a variety of different sources when bringing your knowledge of the company up-to-date, not just the company’s website or other sources that may be biased by viewing everything in a positive light for the company. In writing the case analysis, refer to Appendix A. I will use the checklist in this appendix when grading.
