Models of Change Advantages and Disadvantages Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Assignment/Situation: Now that you have given your team and management an overview of the reorganization and accompanying change impacts, you need to prepare your team to help manage the change. Using the Library, other materials, and credible Internet sources, find three models of change and discuss their advantages and disadvantages in relation to the situation and culture at Pegasus.
***Ensure all information sources are cited using APA guidelines.
Scenario:
You are an internal consultant directed to plan the reorganization for Pegasus Company, a large aerospace research and development company. You work in the human resource development (HRD) department and have three direct reports. Your team has never experienced reorganization, and you will be responsible for coaching them as well as facilitating the reorganization itself. The goal for you and the HRD team is to help Pegasus remain effective and efficient in today’s competitive marketplace.
You, as the lead internal consultant, are first tasked with restructuring the organization. This may mean a reduction in force (RIF). You hope you can restructure without a RIF. You will also need to bring the various teams of employees together and teach them communication skills, process skills, and leadership skills that can hold the company together. You have your work cut out for you.
Company History: Pegasus is widely known for its wind tunnel research technology. Scale models of new products (planes, helicopters, jets, space shuttles, etc.) are tested for imperfections, safety, and practicality.
Pegasus is comprised of engineers, computer-aided design (CAD) designers, scientists, model makers, and administrative staff. The company started out small and has grown rapidly over the past few years. With that growth came the company’s organization into departments by skill group (e.g., engineering, design, R&D). By now, people in different skill groups do not communicate to each other except to pass along designs, projects, and other pertinent ideas to complete project goals. This has caused many problems in the past because each type of worker has his or her own language for his or her subculture of the organization. Therefore, projects take a long time to complete because of mistakes in the plans, redoing the mistakes, and failing to take into account the specifications of the scientists and engineers by the CAD designers because they have not been clearly communicated. The administration and leadership of the organization lack good skills in interpersonal communications because of their heavy science background, and they also need leadership training in the form of management and executive development.
The culture of the organization has been what has kept most people there, not the compensation. In the past, the organization was open, nonhierarchical, and it enabled employees to pursue their professional passions. The main piece of the culture of Pegasus that has always led to retention of employees is that the employees feel as though their jobs are their life and that they have accountability for their part to the greater whole of whatever project on which they are working.
Many employees feel like the company is disintegrating because of the difficulties in communication which, in turn, makes it more difficult to get the projects completed in a timely manner. This is leading to rumblings among the staff about leaving Pegasus. Because Pegasus is located in a highly concentrated technical area of the country, there are other companies that pay better and seem to be more competitive for contracts. The leaders of Pegasus are afraid of losing their best and brightest employees and feel the pressing need to streamline their organization to remain effective, efficient, and competitive.
Ensure reference(s) citations are included within the body of the essay and a reference page is also included!

Managing the Supply Chain Custom Essay

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”arp1″]

Virtual World
EBBD EMAIL – for Internal Use Only
To: You
From: Danny Wilco
Subject: Re: Deliveries clogging the loading dock area
OK, here’s what I want to know: how often do we have more than 5 trucks, more than 6 trucks, and more than 7 trucks. What is the highest number of trucks we may have in the system with a 95% probability? And then, assuming the arrival rate of the deliveries does not change, what does the unload rate need to be so that we can service up to five trucks 95% of the time? In other words if we want a 95% probability of 5 or fewer trucks in the system at any one time, what does the unload (service) rate need to be. Then, consider that we have two unloading teams, each able to unload trucks at the same rate. What does the unloading rate need to be for each team in order to ensure (100%) 5 or fewer trucks in the system at any time? I know we don’t have room for two unloading teams at this time, but there is a possibility we might make room in the future.
Analyze this situation and determine what we need to know and give me report. At this point in time, I am looking only for the problem to be quantified and the unload rate determined for the current situation (single server) and possible two servers.
Let me know if you have any questions.
~DW, VP LogOps.
————————————————
Learning Wizard
If you have mastered the examples and exercises provided in the Background from the Queuing PowerPoint, you are ready to tackle the EBBD problem.
The current situation is a Single Server situation. Enter the arrival rate and service rate to calculate the pertinent queuing system state data. Find out the probabilities of 5 or more trucks in the system, then 6, then 7. Then use trial and error to find the greatest number of trucks or less that can be in the system with 95% (or as close to 95%).
For the Multi-server problem you will need to use a similar process.
Record the results of your calculations and save the Excel file.
Then write your report.
Upload the Report to Case 4. Upload the Excel file with the solution to Additional Files in Module 4.
Expectations of the written report – write the report to your boss, Danny Wilco.
The report should thoroughly address these aspects in depth and breadth:
• Problem situation: clearly elucidate the problem situation at EBBD
• Assumptions: what are the assumptions that need to be made and your critical evaluation
• Solution: discuss how you developed the Solver solution. Keep in mind that your audience is not too technical and do not need a lot of detail on this.
o Make sure you attach the Excel file.
o You should refer to the Excel file when necessary.
• Explanation: clear articulation of the results that you obtain, based on what Wilco is asking for.
• Conclusion: even though Wilco is not asking for a conclusion, you should determine if there is a conclusion to this situation and elucidate what it is.
• Writing style & Organization: well-formed sentences and paragraphs, well organized with flow of reason, and good use of language that pertain to concepts and terminology
• Use of references & citations: References are NOT REQUIRED. If you do use any, be sure to include appropriate use of citations in the paper and reference list.
